Rachel Daniells – Director
Rachel qualified as a solicitor in 1990 and since then has specialised in Family Law. In that time she has acquired significant experience in all aspects of family proceedings.
Rachel was a Partner and Head of the Family Law team at a large regional law firm before starting her own firm. She is a member of the Law Society Children Panel and has been for over 20 years.
Rachel has acted for parents and children in all kinds of public law proceedings including care proceedings, contested adoptions, contact and child abduction over the last 20 years.
Rachel is also a member of Resolution and the Association of Lawyers for children.


Tom Biggs – Director
Tom is a Solicitor-advocate. He began working in law in 2009, qualifying as a Solicitor in 2014. Tom worked at a local authority for six years, practicing family law before joining Daniells Family Law in 2022. Tom gained his Higher Rights qualification in 2020.
Tom primarily works within public law proceedings and has extensive experience in dealing with cases that include non-accidental injury, complex mental health, drug and alcohol addiction, deprivation of liberty, international law / removal from the jurisdiction, fabricated Illness, secure accommodation, adoption and special guardianship.
Tom also takes private law instructions and undertakes agency work for local authorities.
Jess Willetts – Solicitor
Jess has well over 10 years experience in Family Law. She joined the firm in 2016 having previously worked for a large regional law firm. Jess qualified as a Solicitor in 2025. She has a degree in Law.
Jess has experience acting for parents in all aspects of children law, particularly where the Local Authority has concerns about a child. Jess has experience in dealing with cases that include allegations of non-accidental injury and sexual abuse, as well as drug and alcohol addiction, mental health and domestic abuse.
Jess also assists in private children proceedings relating to disputes involving children, and domestic abuse matters where injunctive orders are sought.”


Laura Daniells – Director
Having obtained a first class honours degree in Psychology, with a focus on child psychology, Laura has worked at Daniells Family Law for several years with particular experience in child care law proceedings.
Laura qualified as a solicitor in May 2024.
Amy Goss – Solicitor
Amy began working in law in 2014 and qualified as a Solicitor in 2018. Amy started her career working for a Local Authority for eight years, specialising in care proceedings, before joining a local law firm to continue practicing family law.
Amy joined Daniells Family Law in 2025. She has represented Local Authority’s, parents, and children in all kinds of public law proceedings. She has experience dealing with cases to include non-accidental injury, drug and alcohol addiction, mental health concerns, fabricated illness, deprivation of liberty and special guardianship.
Amy is accredited by the Law Society in Children’s Law. “

Amberley Layton
Amberley joined the team in 2023 as a Paralegal. Amberley has previous experience in Family Law working for the legal department within the local authority and a local law firm. Amberley assists all fee earners with their caseloads to include but not limited to drafting court documents, assisting with administrative tasks and attending court with counsel.”
Rebecca Butler
Rebecca is an administrative assistant and has been with Daniells Family Law since 2018. She deals with the daily management of the office together with finance administration work.
Rebecca is the first port of call for new and existing clients.
